Biography
Gianluca Sgueo earned his PhD in public law through a joint research program between the University of Salento, New York University School of Law, and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris in 2010. He is currently Professor of "Digital Democracy & Public Spaces" at the École d'Affaires Publiques of Sciences Po Paris (Faculty Member since 2019), Senior Associate Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the Brussels School of Governance, Global Professor at New York University – Florence (course "Media Activism and Democracy"), and Digital Department Coordinator of the Luigi Einaudi Foundation. Previously, he held numerous positions at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, including Coordinator of the Press Office and Spokesperson for the Presidency from 2011 to 2013, Coordinator of the Task Force on Youth Policies during Italian Presidency of the European Union from 2013 to 2014, and finally, Policy Advisor at the Department for Digital Transformation from 2021 to 2023. His research areas include digital democracy, the digital transformation of public administration, technology governance, European affairs, and international lobbying.
